UNIT 6 LIFE CYCLES

6.1 REPRODUCTION IN LIVING THINGS
Plants and animals reproduce so that their own kind continue to be found on earth.
Extinct: living thing do not reproduce enough young to replace those that die.

6.2 LIFE CYCLES
Life cyles: a pattern that repeat itself.
Stage: part in life cycles
Some might look similar in each stage, some might look very different.
Some life cyles are short, some are long.
Animal can reproduce by laying eggs or giving birth. Beside giving birth, some mammals such as apiny anteater and platypus reproduce by laying eggs.

D. Grammar
Must and Should


Should

We use "should" to give, or ask for, advice or an opinion in the present:
  • "I have a terrible stomachache." "You should go to the doctor's."
  • "I haven’t heard from my father." "You should call him."
  • "She's not happy with the salary offered." "She shouldn't accept the job."

Form

We use "should" / "shouldn't" + the infinitive of the main verb (without "to")

Must

"Must" is also used to talk about obligation and is used in written rules and instructions:
  • You must submit your proposal by noon on 12th July.
  • You must not use a calculator during the exam.
"Must" is also used to give a strong recommendation:
  • You must tell him before it's too late.
  • You mustn't be late for work on your first day.

The negative form, "mustn't" ("must not"), means that you are obliged or recommended not to do something.
