TYPES OF INVERTEBRATES
Invertebrates
are animal without backbone.
Invertebrates can be grouped based on their common characteristics. Some
invertebrates have jointed legs and
some do not.
Some
invertebrates with jointed legs are:
Insects, Spiders, Millipedes,
and Crustaceans.
Some
invertebrates without jointed legs are
Starfish, sea urchin, and sea cucumber
Jelly fish, corals, and sea anemones
Sponges
Snails, slugs, clams, and mussels
Worms

Snails, slugs,
clams, and mussels
|
Found both on land and in water. Some of
them live in salt water, and some live in fresh water.

Have a soft body and a foot. Some have
tentacles on their heads.
Snails, clams, and mussels have shells.

Worms
|
Found on land and water.
|
Have a body which can be divided into
halves that are mirror images of each other.
Many have sense organs.
May have a smooth body or segmented
body.
